Theories of New Regionalism represents the first systematic and interdisciplinary attempt to bring together leading theories of new regionalism. Major theorists in the field from around the world develop their own distinctive theoretical perspectives, spanning new regionalism and world order approaches along with regional governance, liberal institutionalism and neoclassical development regionalism, to regional security complex theory and the region-building approach. This unique exercise reveals the pluralism and richness of theories of new regionalism. At the same time it also seeks to overcome the fragmentation and division in the field, and facilitate a more productive debate between different theoretical standpoints, particularly between mainstream and alternative regionalism theories.
