The discrimination and inequitable treatment of women within international criminal justice systems is the focus of this text. Illustrated within the nine chapters of the book, women, as a class, have been excluded from participating as workers in the criminal justice system. Women have also received inferior treatment when incarcerated, compared to their male counterparts; and have had their court proceedings influenced by sex role stereotypes when women are the victims of crime.These studies by international authors offer a global, comparative analysis of women in the criminal justice systems of South Korea, Finland, Egypt, Lebanon, Great Britain, the United States, and the Caribbean nations.
