The origins of tourism extend back to the time of the ancient Greeks. However, tourism did not occur on any large scale until the industrial revolution, when affordable travel provided by the railways, combined with the paid holidays offered by employers to their employees, stimulated the development of seaside resorts in Europe and the United States catering for the new middle class. By the outbreak of the First World War, tourism had developed from a domestic to an international phenomenon. Travel to natural areas which conserves the environment and sustains the will-being of local people. In other worlds it is a environmentally responsible and socially and entirely sound tourism. It is one of the effective means to finance conservation and alternative livelihood. Aim of this book is to provide to our readers various aspects of the subject in proper perspectives.
