About the Book
To expand the McGraw-Hill's AP brand, we are introducing a new series tailored specifically to the needs of most students—either those who put off preparing until the last weeks before the exam, or those who depend on the additional study time few weeks before the exam to solidify their knowledge. All types of students will benefit from going over the questions written to parallel the topic, format, and degree of difficulty of the questions contained in the AP exam, accompanied by answers with copmprehensive expalanations.

Biology is one of the most popular and most demanding of the Advanced Placement tests. In 2008 the AP Biology course enrollment went up 7% to 154,504 test takers.

Market / Audience
Primary Market is composed of high school students taking Advanced Placement courses or studying for the AP exam on their own. The vast majority of US high schools now offer AP courses -- nearly 60% participate in the AP Program. As competition for admission into colleges intensifies every year, the AP program is expected to grow exponentially. Competitive colleges all look at AP scores and a good performance allows students to place out of survey courses, saving significant money in tuition expense.

Test Takers Annually: AP Biology: 154, 504 (+7%)

Bookscan research shows that weekly sales of AP guides more than double during the February—April period preceding the May AP exams – indicating that large numbers of students put off studying until the last minute.
