The People's Quiz 2007 is set to take the nation by storm. Over 12 consecutive weeks on Saturday nights, BBC 1 will feature the biggest quiz show the corporation has ever envisaged - with more questions, more contestants and a bigger prize fund than ever before.

Regional auditions are open to the entire nation. Thousands have flocked to quiz centres around the country to be tested with general knowledge questions and find out if they can get through to the next round - and, eventually, the grand final. The contestants who make it to the studio stage compete head to head each week to get through to the next round. After twelve weeks, the show climaxes with a nailbiting grand final, where one member of the public will have their life changed for ever by winning a massive cash prize.
