About the author
A pediatrician with forty years of experience, Marc Weissbluth, M.D., is also a leading researcher on sleep and children. He founded the original Sleep Disorders Center at Chicago’s Children’s Memorial Hospital (now called the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago) and is a professor of clinical pediatrics at Northwestern University School of Medicine. In addition to his own research, he has written about sleep problems in manuals of pediatrics, lectured extensively to parent groups, is a regular at the 92nd Street Y, and has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Dr. Weissbluth and his wife of more than fifty years, Linda, have four sons and eight grandchildren. They live in Chicago.
Eileen Behan is a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) and a registered dietitian, receiving her training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and she has completed the ADA adult weight-management program. She has worked for the Veterans Administration in Boston, the Harvard School of Public Health, and Seacoast Family Practice in Exeter. Behan has published several books including the bestselling Eat Well, Lose Weight, While Breastfeeding. Behan has appeared on numerous television networks and programs to discuss nutrition, including CNN, CNBC, and Today. She lives in the seacoast area of New Hampshire with her husband and two children.
For more than twenty years, Vimala McClure has worked with parents and babies using the ancient practice of infant massage to help create warm, intuitive bonds of love in families. She is the founder of the International Association of Infant Massage and the author of several books, including The Tao of Motherhood and The Path of Parenting. Also an award-winning textile artist, Vimala lives in Boulder, Colorado, near her two grown children.
Brian Vartabedian, M.D., is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital who has diagnosed and treated more than five thousand children with acid reflux disease. He has written for American Baby and Parenting. He lives in The Woodlands, Texas.
