ExcerptRevenge is a great word to say. Repeat after me, slowly: Revenge. Just saying it makes you feel better. We’ve all been wronged at some point. It’s unpleasant. It makes us feel angry and it makes us feel bad about ourselves. Revenge addresses both problems. It punishes the wrongdoer and makes us feel okay again. No surprise, then, that revenge has been with us since the dawn of time. You can bet that the day after man invented the wheel, his ex-girlfriend slashed the tyre. History is littered with revenge – look at Henry VIII. He didn’t mess around. Upset him and it was off with your head. A little unimaginative as far as revenge goes, but effective. He would have loved this book. Upset a pirate, on the other hand, and you’d find yourself walking the plank. Annoy the Romans and you’d find yourself fighting a tiger. Upset the Shogun of Japan and he’d send the Ninjas round to rearrange your furniture. Now, these ideas were all good in their day. However, they need updating for the modern world. Executing your enemy just isn’t done any more, and people tend to look badly on the idea of public floggings. Accordingly, I’ve put together 101 examples of modernised payback to add to the annals of revenge. Some are funny, some are devious, some are cruel – but at least no one loses their head. Not physically, anyway. Enjoy, and watch your back. Related eBooks
