Download and Install MobiPocket

Before downloading your first MobiPocket, ebook you'll need to download and install Mobipocket Reader. Here's how:

1. Download and install Mobipocket Reader onto your computer, from MobiPocket.com. Be sure to select the correct version that's suitable for your device.
2. Plug your device into your computer and synchronise the device. Your device will be automatically recognized by the Mobipocket Desktop Reader, which will guide you through the installation process.
3. Register your 'PIDs' in your eBooks.com account. Your PID is a unique code that acts as an identifying key for your own computer or handheld device. In the My Account section of the eBooks.com website there is a link entitled 'Register a PID'. Selecting this will allow you to enter your PIDs into your account.

If you want to download your ebook to a handheld device you will need to register two PIDs; one for your computer and one for your handheld.

Here's where you can find your PID:

1. Open Mobipocket Desktop Reader on your computer
2. Click on 'Reading Devices' in the grey left-hand panel
3. You should see any handheld devices listed alongside your computer
4. Click on 'Edit Properties'
5. Copy the PID and paste it into your eBooks.com account
6. Log in to your eBooks.com account at https://sec.ebooks.com/accounts/login.asp and click on the 'Download' link next to your ebook title in order to download a new copy of your book.

For subsequent downloads. Use your computer to log in to your eBooks.com account and select the 'Download' link next to your ebook title. Then sync the ebook to your device.

We do not recommend that you download ebooks directly to your handheld device. Instead, you should download the book to your computer and then transfer the ebook to your device.

You should then be able to send the book to your device next time you plug your device into the computer.

If this doesn't work, drag-and-drop the .prc file (the ebook file) from your computer to the program you use to update your device.

Whenever you get a new device, please ensure that you update the PIDs in your eBooks.com account before downloading.
