  • Bose-Einstein Condensation in Dilute Gasesby C. J. Pethick; H. Smith

    Cambridge University Press 2001; US$ 62.00

Since the experimental discovery in 1995 of Bose-Einstein condensation in dilute atomic gases, investigating such condensates has become one of the most active areas in contemporary physics. Intended for graduate-level students and researchers, this textbook (complete with problem sets) provides an up-to-date and detailed introduction to this exciting new subject. more...

  • Vortices in Bose-Einstein Condensatesby Amandine Aftalion

    Springer 2006; US$ 129.00

In experiments on Bose-Einstein condensates, vortices have been observed in various conditions. This monograph is focuses on the mathematical modelling of these phenomena. It is useful for mathematical researchers and theoretical physicists interested in superfluidity and quantum condensates. more...

  • Emergent Nonlinear Phenomena in Bose-Einstein Condensatesby Panayotis G. Kevrekidis; Dimitri J. Frantzeskakis; Ricardo Carretero-gonzález

    Springer 2008; US$ 209.00

This book, written by experts in the fields of atomic physics and nonlinear science, covers the important developments in a special aspect of Bose-Einstein condensation, namely nonlinear phenomena in condensates. Topics covered include bright, dark, gap and multidimensional solitons; vortices; vortex lattices; optical lattices; multicomponent condensates; mathematical methods/rigorous results; and the beyond-the-mean-field approach. more...

  • Bose-Einstein Condensationby A. Griffin; D. W. Snoke; S. Stringari

    Cambridge University Press 1995; US$ 93.00

The first book devoted to Bose–Einstein condensation (BEC) as an interdisciplinary subject. more...

  • Excitations in a Bose-condensed Liquidby Allan Griffin

    Cambridge University Press 1993; US$ 54.00

An up-to-date account of the microscopic theory of the dynamics of superfluid 4He. more...

  • Many-Body Schrödinger Dynamics of Bose-Einstein Condensatesby Kaspar Sakmann

    Springer 2011; US$ 129.00

At extremely low temperatures, clouds of bosonic atoms form what is known as a Bose-Einstein condensate. Recently, it has become clear that many different types of condensates - so called fragmented condensates - exist. In order to tell whether fragmentation occurs or not, it is necessary to solve the full many-body Schrodinger equation, a task that remained elusive for experimentally relevant conditions for many years. In this thesis the first numerically exact solutions of the time-dependent many-body Schrodinger equation for a bosonic Josephson junction are provided and compared to the approximate Gross-Pitaevskii and Bose-Hubbard theories. It is thereby shown that the dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates is far more intricate than one... more...

  • Los gases (Gases)by William B. Rice

    Shell Education 2011; US$ 8.99

What continues to expand to take up all the space it can? Gases! A gas is a state of matter, like a liquid and a solid. But it has properties that are quite different. In this book, read all about the differences and what makes a gas a gas. 32 pages more...
