Digital photography is hot. In the year 2006, 106 million digital cameras were sold worldwide, up 14.5% from the previous year. That number is expected to increase to 114 million units in 2007. Digital cameras have outsold film cameras since 2003; many manufacturers have discontinued their film-based operations in favor of all-digital product lines.
