The Last Crusaders is about the titanic contest between Hadsburg-led Christendom and the Ottoman Empire in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, the last great conflict between East and West - the battles that were fought and the men who led the armies that fought them. It was, in its way, the first world war.

The last crusaders
A very interesting survey of Christian vs Muslim warfare against each other and against their "heretical" coreligionists during what Europeans call the age of exploration. The author does an excellent job of providing context and motivation for the various conflicts over the several centuries from the 14th to the end of 16th centuries. A very good read.
