One of my favorites
I can't stop reading these books. You never know what Anita will do next! I'm an old lady, 78, crippled with arthritis, living with my son. So, I think I'm living vicariously through Anita. It's such great fun! My favorite book is #6. But I really like this one, too. It has nonstop action. Plus Micah! I think he is perfect for Anita. I'm so sick and tired of Richard. Yet, he always shows up, right when it is so embarrassing to Anita and when she needs him the most. But he just doesn't always come through for her. I love the way Anita talks. Also I enjoy the story taking place in St. Louis. I lived there for a while a long time ago. So, that's fun too. I'm reading book #12 right now, "Incubus Dreams". "Narcissus in Chains" (book #10) is really a great book. I've started a chart so I can keep up with all the characters. I also set up a chart of who belongs to who. In #10 I learned to love the wererats. I also loved it because Anita is starting to open her mind, slowly but surely, and accept things that she cannot change. I have a little trouble understanding why she has a "beast" inside her. I'm thinking she really is a wereleopard, but has just never changed yet. But, the way she explains it to herself is that the "beast" is related to her necromancy. The "Ardeur" is also hard for me to understand. If she and Jean-Claude have it, why doesn't Richard have it? But he doesn't. It was probably explained but I didn't get it. Almost everything is explained in the books. I love that. In this book, the characters that I like the most are: Micah (of course), Claudia, Igor, Gilbert, Bobbie Lee and Cris. I will never forget that shower scene. Oh me, oh my! I do like what is happening with the werewolves. If Richard could just himself together, he would be a great Ulfric. I also like it that the different species are cooperating together more. Anyway, please don't stop writing Anita Blake books. I love all of them!!!
